About

In November 2023, Serve Globally appointed Chris Peterson as Regional Coordinator for Europe. He supports global personnel serving in Europe and identifies new opportunities for ministry partnerships.

Chris Peterson is originally from Minnesota and grew up in the Christian camping ministry at Covenant Pines Bible Camp. After completing his Master of Divinity at North Park Seminary in Chicago in 2002, he was ordained as pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church and has served international churches both in Sweden and Japan for nearly twenty years.

In 2022, Chris completed an academic program in spiritual direction through the C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction in Chicago. He looks forward to bringing both his pastoral experience and recent training into this new role.

“Serving in international congregations with such diverse ethnic, cultural and church backgrounds deeply changed me. Every Sunday that we gathered around the Lord's table, I was deeply moved by the diverse community finding their unity in Christ - a picture of the biblical vision where every tribe, tongue and nation worship together in God's Kingdom.”

“Serving together, learning together, seeking to extend hospitality and welcome to those different than us has shaped my vision for discipleship and evangelism in our time."

— Chris Peterson

Serve Globally, locally

In Stockholm, Chris partners with Christian student organization Credo as a mentor to student leaders. He also offers spiritual direction to local lay leaders.

Some Saturdays, you can find him serving coffee and sandwiches to our homeless neighbors at the central station together with folks from a local church.
