Retreat Ministry

At the end of April I had the privilege to lead two prayer retreats in Stockholm. The first was with St Peter’s Anglican church and the second was with members of Immanuel International Fellowship.. Our theme for both retreats was “Abide” based on Jesus’ invitation to abide in him as he abides in us. Over the course of the day we were invited to slow down and open ourselves to God and each other seeking to listen for his voice in our lives. It was such a joy to experience how God worked in our midst as we prayed Scripture together and alone, engaged our creativity and spent time in silence. The day ended with a beautiful celebration of the Lord’s supper, where we were invited to receive God’s grace and abide in his love.

Leading contemplative retreats in the Stockholm area has been a dream for some years and I am so thankful for the way God has opened doors for me to serve in this way. We are seeing a clear longing in the local church and among seekers to connect with God and others through prayer and sharing in community.

Pray for Immanuel Church and St. Peter’s church as members of these churches seek to know God, love him more, and joyfully share his love wherever God leads them.

Group session on “praying the Scriptures” and the key elements of entering into retreat.

It was a gift to have a talented member of the church share her creative gifts to invite people to pray and reflect on Scripture.
