Mission Connection Event

At the end of the July Serve Globally hosted the annual Mission Connection Event for returning global personnel at Covenant Harbor in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. What a joy to gather with this diverse group of colleagues serving in Mozambique, Dominican Republic, Japan, Columbia, Hong Kong, Nicaragua, Korea and several countries in Europe. It was such a blessing to hear so many stories of God’s work around the world and it gave me a much deeper understanding of the places they are serving and their joys and challenges.

Over the course of the week we received excellent continuing education in missiology, cross cultural awareness and interacted with pastors and leaders from a variety of regions in U.S. and Canada. This was extremely helpful in gaining a deeper understanding of what is happening in the local church and guidance in how we can best support them.

With some of our colleagues serving in Europe on an evening walk beside Lake Geneva. Being at this event gave me important in person time with colleagues to listen in to their lives and ministry and dream about the future.

Prayer points:

-pray for these brothers and sisters as they visit many churches and ministry supporters that they may be encouraged and blessed. Pray that their testimonies may encourage and challenge the church in their calling to love and serve Christ.

-pray for children who are experiencing big transitions, cultural adjustments, new schools and friends
