Europe/MENA annual Gathering

Euro/Middle East and North Africa annual gathering

At the end of October the Euro/MENA regions held our annual gathering in Croatia. This was the largest gathering we have had in the past several years and we were glad to welcome colleagues from Iraq, Egypt and Israel/Palestine who joined us for the first time. They brought wonderful stories of how God is at work in their regions and were a great encouragement to the group.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the retreat is the time that we spend in small groups to share our joys and struggles in a safe space and to receive prayer and encouragement from the group. Over the course of the week, as we worshipped together, received excellent teaching, and gathered at table, we experienced a true sense of God’s healing and renewing presence among us.

A special highlight of our gathering this year was the baptism of Delen Walles. Since Delen was a child he has been attending this gathering with his parents Derek and Carin and felt strongly that he wanted to be baptized with this group surrounding him. We were honored and overjoyed to be a part of his baptism.

A picture of joy!

It was such a joy to see the youth reconnect and forge new friendships over the week. Asher and Livia felt right at home and had an amazing week. We are so thankful for Peninsula Covenant Church who generously supports two volunteers from their church to join us and lead a special program for all the youth. What gift!
